Inspired by gifts we receive daily..thaNks to the Lord! This is the first pattern I ever drew, I loved them then, and I love them now.
They have been made of osnaburg. Their eyes are stitched,faces needle-sculpted. I've bound them in old lace,because Mercy and Grace do adorn our days with softness. They are tied to old spools,with grapevine wings,glued,and sewn on. GruNgy hang-tags with Grace and Mercy stamped on,with tied on old buttons, and rusty pinned on.
Grace stands at about 13 1/2 inches high..mercy is about 15 inches high..both are 9 inches across. Beautiful set..look so much nicer than the photos! If you are interested in the pattern for them, you can find it on my website.

Being small,shy, and overlooked..doesn't hold a gal back..well not Tansy..anyway! DetermiNation is her strong point.
Tansy is made of painted,sanded,stained and baked muslin. She has sewn on button eyes, over osnaburg, long scraggly rusty wire whiskers, and a needle-sculpted face.
Rusty wired to her, is her golden egg,her big ol peepers, spotted it right away!
Her egg is made of osnaburg,prim'd with a gruNgy 1st place ribbon rusty pinned to it.
She's about 14 inches high,from cheek to cheek close to 7 inches..from front to back close to 4 inches deep..
She is my design.

The fellas are made of painted,sanded,stained and baked muslin. Huge old buttons for eyes sewn on, needlesculpted faces,a few tattered and torn spots, here and there. The carrot is made of painted,sanded,stained and baked osnaburg,wound in rusty wire,with rusty bells,twisted,and rusty pinned on. Stuffed with abit of moss,a scrap of homespun,and a stamped luggage tag that simply reads ..wait for it..oh wait for it...spring! lol
Its a simple piece..but nice! It measures about 24 inches high and 6 inches across..perfect door greeter.

Victorian Baby Shoe Pin Keep

As pictured pin cushion vintage victorian baby shoe. I love to repurpose. I started with a soft sole old baby shoe I added bb shot to give it some weight. I stuffed it nicley with poly fil. The pin cushion itself is onsaburg stuffed with poly fil and then hot glued in its place. I hate glue but I had no choice. I then hand sewed the vintage trim in place. I coffee dyed to give it a aged look. Trimmed with a few buttons and pins. Measures about 4 3/4 inches long by 1 3/4 inches wide. PLEASE NOTE that the top button is being held in its place with a safety pin. One of a kind.

I had a woNderful lady order the scraggly kitties, and I thought I would do an extra set to share. This scraggly litter of kitties and hearts, have all been made from,painted,sanded,stained and baked muslin.All have needle-sculpted faces, and scraggly whiskers of rusted wire,glued in. HUGE old button eyes..I just love!
The old red handled sifter has been filled with abit of moss,with rusty wire tied around and a stamped gruNgy hang-tag that reads * you are the cats meow* I think its a wonderful everyday kind of display but it certainly would be a great Valentine aswell. Nothing has been permanently glued in..so you could choose to display your kitty and hearts in another fashion if you like.
Lucky numbers on this also..measures close to 11 inches high,7 inches wide,and 7 inches deep. Perfect for a cupboard,shelf, any ol nook or cranny..perfect reminder for the love of home and family..or that special someone.

These lil ones were begging to be made..I couldn't resist the idea..purrfectly matched lil kitties,each wanting to give hugs n kisses..each begging to *be mine* plump and sweet to boot!
This set is made of painted,sanded,stained and baked muslin. Kitties have embroidered eyes,nose,and tiny lil thread whiskers. They each are wearing a lil banner of red color-washed cheesecloth that has been rusty pinned on. They each have a hand-stamped tag,one reads hugs and the other kisses..kinda hard to decide which one I like best..so I'll take both please! lol
They are both sewn to old thread spools,have gruNgy lil wings,and are wired to a gruNgy heart with rusty wire and rusty bells. The gruNgy heart has a gruNgy lil hand-stamped banner that simply reads * be mine* rusty pinned to it.
A woNderful ValeNtiNe for that purfectly matched couple or for your own kitty lover..or maybe even just for yourself! ;)
This set measure approx. 12 inches long, and 6 inches high.

An Early Easter Surprize...BJ Bunnie!

I am delighted to present to you an original Boggy Bottom Bayou artist bunny, designed and made by me, Carolyn Smith. His name is B.J.. I am not going to place a reserve on him to encourage bidding. So without further adieu, here is B.J.!

B.J.’s fur is a one inch curly, matted (for an older look) sparse, 1 inch Kaki Schulte mohair. His white whiskers and his cute fuzzy tail are made of one inch Stieff uses Schulte mohair on their famous Teddy Bears sold throughout the world for a hundred years!

He is 16 inches tall (not counting his ears!) and stands upright very easily as his feet are weighted with very tiny glass beads. He is fully jointed (arms, legs and head), using durable discs and lock-nuts. His eyes are imported from Germany and are of hand-blown glass. His nose is stitched layer over layer with coral colored pearled cotton. Paw pads are made of tan. 100% Merino wool with hand-stitched claws. He wears a primitive tan gingham vest that features a hand appliquéd bunny and carrots. There is even a carrot on his back left shoulder!

This handmade Gingerbread Doll is 14". Made of tea-stained brown flannel. Her face has been painted, nose stitched and sealed. This doll is wearing red and black plaid homespun puffy sleeve dress. Apple and stripe print apron and cotton batting with a buttoned and stitched collar with red and white heart pattern bloomers. Red with Pink polka dots bow is stitched into her head. Her head is nice & round made of stained osnaburg with carrot nose, eyelids, rusty tack eyes & tiny jingle bell mouth. Bloomers are navy/red check wool. Holds a twig & real bird nest and an old red feather bird. In the other hand he holds a sock filled with greens & a chenille candy cane. This is the most unique snowman I've ever made. The snowman is completely hand made. The Lamp Post is a recycled patio lamp that I've cleaned and converted to work with a battery operated LED candle. The top lifts off for easy access to the candle. You'll find him on my website.
